This role will require an experienced sales executive to share their success through mentoring, desk coaching and training sales executives. The role will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing and delivering Sales training programs to support the professional development of our sales functions and increase organisational performance by ensuring that we have a team of top performers.

This will involve partnering across the business to support Tech Data in delivering our learning & development strategy and objectives. Learning and development is a vital part for our business success. Its credibility and success, has enabled some of our top performers to fulfil their true potential, and we would like to extend this success across our wider business.


  • Engage and build relationships with the HR business partners & key stakeholders in the sales floor to understand development needs
  • Manage the relationship with external sales training providers
  • Scope, design and deliver sales training (skills, process and systems) aligned to our Tech Data strategic goals
  • Lead sales training delivery across all UK sites
  • Coach and mentor sales execs
  • Ensure that the sales team have the sales skills required to be the market leader
  • Leading on the implementation of sales training into our new advanced solutions side of the business working closely with the senior leaders to design a fit for purpose, forward thinking sales academy
  • Working closely with the wider HR community to ensure sales learning and development is available to all who require it
  • Support the regular tasks including room bookings, resource co-ordination, attendee management, course review feedback and analysis are carried out effectively and efficiently

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

  • More than five years' proven sales experience, preferably within a corporate environment
  • More than two years' experience in sales training or coaching
  • Coaching/mentoring experience essential. Official qualification preferred or proven experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written, telephone and face to face)
  • Experience with sales systems such as CRM
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment and prioritise work load
  • Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets
  • Ability to use initiative and take responsibility with a positive and can do attitude
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn
  • Ability to form effective working relationships at all levels
  • Excellent team player
  • Good skills in Microsoft Word / Excel / Power Point / Outlook
  • Ability to travel within UK (expect at least 2 days travel a week)
