Job Description


To support the Student Hire Manager in coordinating the delivery of recruitment, including the allocation of work, innovation through enhancements to ways of working, as well as coaching and counselling members of the team. The main focus of this role will be to oversee candidate pipeline management within the team and ensure optimal service delivery for all Pre-offer activity including candidate screening, candidate matching, interview scheduling and seamless transition of the candidate journey to the next stage in the recruitment process.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experienced in managing and mentoring large teams

  • Strong administration capability, able to work with intricate processes such as pipeline instructions and the ability to act as a role model in organisational skills
  • Working with data and producing management information
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement capability and a service oriented mind-set
  • Working with and relationship management of external providers
  • Strong people management skills, with an interest in developing people
  • Able to demonstrate successful track record of process improvements and best use of technology
  • Degree level, or equivalent, qualification level
  • Previous experience within/good knowledge of recruitment is desirable but not necessary


  • Coach team members to improve performance, specifically to improve their pipeline management and escalation aspects within their role
  • Counsel several team members
  • Support the Student Hire Manager and Team Coaches in introducing new ways of working and monitor the implementation of changes
  • Support the team with any operational queries. Act as subject matter expert for the practices and processes in Recruitment Services
  • Undertake student hire coordination and administration duties when resource requires this. This involves pre-selection, selection and on-boarding activities
  • Deputise for Student Hire Manager and cover Team Coaches
  • Report and monitor time to offer for candidates, devise recommendations on how to reduce this and manage team work allocation effectively to meet SLA's
  • Report on weekly screening and interview scheduling activities to identify if enough candidates are progressing and what amendments could be made to the process to progress candidates more effectively
  • Meet with Student Hire manager weekly to provide a review of pipeline, suggested changes to process and variations on ways of working to achieve pipeline completion
  • Early identification of any challenges which may impact achieving graduate and undergraduate targets and support in providing resolutions
  • Contribute to HRSSC, CBS and wider HR projects and initiatives
  • Commit to own personal development and ensure capability and skills are always up to date
  • Typical Activities
  • Meet weekly with the team for pipeline reviews, management and escalations
  • Meet weekly with the team to allocate and manage weekly targets and SLA's
  • Meet weekly with Student Recruitment for pipeline review and escalation (following the escalation process by engaging individual resource coordinators/managers)
  • Meet weekly with the Manager/Coaches for high level business escalation
  • Meet weekly with external provider(s) to manage their service delivery
  • Management of Taleo reporting
  • Production of reports regarding team performance and identification of areas of focus
  • Support the Manager generating ideas for process improvements and ensuring new ways of working are Embedded in the team
  • As directed by the Manager, investigate service issues/failures in KPI or performance to identify improvements to service/performance
  • Counsel and coach team members aimed at improving levels of performance around candidate progression and development
  • Monitor the workload of team members to ensure fair distribution
  • Participation in ad hoc project work
  • Present ideas and initiatives at team meetings
  • Continuously develop knowledge and expertise of recruitment and on boarding processes
  • Facilitate good communication in the team
