Field Based Employee Relations Advisor - Distribution - covering Reading Swindon and oxford and the South West Salary: Up to £30K - Company Car, Laptop Mobile - 12 months fixed term contract (possibility to go permanent) If you are looking for a challenging role - with lots of variety, something a bit different that you can put your own stamp on! About the role: This role is field based covering Reading Swindon and the South West so a lot of travelling with some overnight stays This role involves supporting the Employee Relations Manager and support to the business. The role forms an integral part of the HR Services team and supports the Corporate and Operations Business Partners to effectively manage, influence and control the Employee Relations agenda. The Role is to: Support the Employment Tribunal process by managing case loads.Supporting the ER Manager with Employment Tribunal.Working with a team of 3 ER Advisors across the UK and liaising at all times with line management.Provide direct and 'on the ground' case management support in investigations, disciplinary, grievance, absence and long term sick matters and coach line managers on the processProvide expert advice, guidance and coaching to line managers on the full range of employee relations issues.Support the ER and HR Services Manager to design and deliver a ER service to the business, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and processes are communicated effectivelySupport the development of ER KPI's and identify trends and plans to address/correct/rectifyUnderstand the business drivers to the ER activity and take corrective action to address including up skilling managers.Provide appropriate advice on company policies and employment legislation, ensuring all relevant managers and teams are updated accordingly.Support the provision of management information showing, analysis and trends that support business decisions.Liaise with 3rd parties - solicitors to best manage ER casesSupport and deliver training for the line management, including lessons learnt from previous cases.Ensure legislative and policy compliance in ER practices and processes.Involvement in Union activity including business updates, pay negotiationsDeputise for other team members as required. Key contacts/business relationships Close working relationships with the Corporate and Operations Business Partners.HR Service Team.All line managementOther third parties including external suppliers, unions and legislative bodies, e.g. DLA.Industry advisory bodies such as CIPD What essential knowledge, experience, skills, qualifications are needed for the role to be effective? Previous experience of operating as a Field based business advisor,Previous experience of working independentlyShow evidence of a commercial and client focused operating style.Demonstrate great influencing and interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt style as necessary.Provide evidence of a sound knowledge of employment legislation and its translation to operational deliveryFull driving licence (preferably with no or minimal) points.Demonstrate great people management capabilities, including performance management and professional development.The ability to handle multiple and/or complex tasks, with evidence of successful outcomes.Experience of working within a target driven environment.Strong problem solving and decision making skills.A clear passion and understanding of the latest challenges/opportunities facing our industry and business.To hold or be working to a CIPD qualification.Ability to identify trends and problem solve Experience of restructures/TUPE is desirableEvidence experience of industrial relations and unionised environments is desirable Apply Vicky
