What's the job?

Here at BGL Group - home of and Beagle Street, we have an excellent opportunity for an ER Consultant to join our team. In this key role you'll provide Employee Relations expertise to Employees and Line Managers, providing advice on disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, flexible working and mediation procedures, as well as guidance on complex and/or sensitive issues.

You'll manage and assist the business with Employee relations cases across the group. You'll also provide confidential and independent advice on disciplinary, grievance, performance issues, and unauthorised absence procedures.

You'll provide advice and guidance on performance and capability cases and liaise with Occupational Health as appropriate. Alongside this, you'll conduct or support investigations on employee complaints, misconduct as appropriate; manage employee appeals as required.

What will it take?

We are ideally looking for someone who has excellent complex HR and ER knowledge gained through extensive experience of case work, with emphasise on senior employees.

You'll have excellent stakeholder management skills and can build effective relationships with all areas of the business. You'll also be CIPD qualified and have good evidence of ongoing CPD.

You'll bring experience in dealing with a wide variety employee group. You'll also have good complaints handling or customer service skills and experience of using consultative coaching styles to support Line Managers.

Along with good attention to detail, you'll also have the ability to own issues to resolution. You'll be self-motivated, have a can-do attitude and have a high level of integrity and discretion.
